Books note: books is kinda hard to pin down. I have a long list of science books to read already, but I am looking for good quality general nonfiction. I’m particularly interested in books that discuss things normally thought to be outside science in a science-y way. For example one book I really liked this year was The Design of Everyday Things, a book that discussed how people interact with objects and how product design could be more user-centric.
Some examples of books I have on my to-read list include stuff like: a book on the unintuitiveness of probabilities, a book on how change in parents and teachers attitudes towards children could improve their ability to learn, a book on how people react during disasters and a book about how we like to blame the media for our problems. (These books I can get from the library, so i’m not looking to own them.)
Anyway, if you happen to see a good book you think i’d like, or better yet one you’ve read yourself that you think i’d like, great, but otherwise don’t stress about it!
(Also right now I’m not looking for any science fiction, unless you want to get me a copy of Fire in the Deep or something)
