Holiday Plans
So, I’m taking off almost the full week of Christmas. I still need to come in for a couple hours on that Monday for a lab meeting/journal club but yeah. Originally I was hoping to take off part of this week as well, since that’s when Alan and Alene are coming, but things are so busy here I guess it can’t be helped. The tentative plan is that someone picks me up Friday evening after I get back from work…? (My silly sis volunteers, but I think she might be too tired after finals)
I’ll have to work more when I get back, the week of New Year’s. I’m thinking of possibly working New Year’s too, if I can get there (there are no buses running on holidays) or maybe just staying home that day.
Randomly: Oddly enough, Bush has executive ordered the day after Christmas a holiday for government employees. (What, is he trying to curry favor/improve his image?) It doesn’t really matter to me, since I was planning to take off that day anyway, but at least I get to keep a vacation day. (It’s nice that Jun, the new guy in the lab with no vacation days, can spend a 4 day weekend with his kids though)
